My name is Tania, and I am from Ukraine. I came to Finland on March 13, 2022. I learned to knit at the same time my Mother learned. I was 6 or 7 years old at the time. I remember sitting on the table and my Mother taught me to knit with crooked sock needles. Half a century has passed since then, but I vividly remember my Mother every time I pick up my knitting needles and start a new project.
A lot of things have been knitted since then. One day, I had an idea for creating the perfect yarn store, one that I would like to knit in myself. That dream has become a reality! The first post on this blog is a thank you to everyone who supported and inspired me along the way. First of all, my gratitude to the family - my son, my two cutest grandsons and their mam. All of them together and each separately gave me the strength to keep my back straight. Without their invaluable help filling out endless forms and the language support, I would just sit and cry until now :).
A low bow to my Ukrainian friends, who confidently said: You can do it! "You can" when I had to take a small backpack with personal documents, and two bottles of water and run across the city to a car that would take me out of the hell of fear. This part of the post had to be rewritten several times. I realised that I would not be able to mention here all the names of all the people who have supported me... Including the nice person who sheltered me before crossing the border. Image... He bought 4 toothbrushes so I could choose the right one. I can't remember this trip without tears. Thanks to everybody and everyone. Now I know for sure that angels live among us.
